Heckel bassoon restoration - before & after!

This Heckel bassoon has undergone a full restoration in the Double Reed Ltd. workshop, bringing it back to the world-class standard bassoon it had originally been.

It had been poorly painted by a previous owner, needed keywork upgrades to bring it up to modern standards (including a high E key, a high D key and new rollers), plus finger hole liners, re-plated key-work, new pads, tuning work, and much, much more!

This video shows the highlights of the restoration, starting with how the bassoon looked before it was restored, finishing with the fully restored instrument, and a recording of how it now sounds.
