Schreiber S71

A Schreiber S71 (also known as a 5071) bassoon for sale. We are always delighted when a really nice Schreiber S71 bassoon comes along, thanks to their lovely playing characteristics and strong build quality.

The S71 has some nice extras like the right-hand thumb rollers and high E key. Most of all it projects a lovely even tone, making it a great choice for anyone looking to upgrade to something really dependable.

This bassoon features:

• A silky, smooth evenness of tone and a lively roundness to the sound
• Very good intonation
• Varnish in excellent condition
• Silver plating in excellent condition
• High quality extras like metal tenon rings for strength
• Lined finger holes extending into the bore to aid against bubbling
• An excellent level of keywork including high D key, high E key, left-hand thumb whisper key lock, seven rollers including rollers for the right-hand thumb, three trills E-F#-C#-Eb, alternate keys including F#-Bb-Ab, extra low C key
• Schreiber KER 1 and 2 crooks
• Case with back straps
