A rare Mollenhauer contrabassoon for sale second hand. This instrument is badged 'Schreiber' - Mollenhauer make Schreiber contrabassoons so this is a Mollenhauer contrabassoon with all the usual Mollenhauer professional level rollers and keywork, and a Mollenhauer serial number. Schreiber contrabassoons are professional level instruments and currently retail for 53000 Euros new.
Made in 1975 it descends down to sub-contra A and is in outstanding playing condition throughout, having been fully disassembled, re-sealed and re-padded.
It has full professional keywork including 12 rollers, double C# touch piece for left thumb for octave C#, middle C to low E link, tuning slide. The sound is rich and warm and the intonation is precise.
