A beautiful Heckel 5000 series bassoon for sale with an incredible smooth sound. This is a 1920 model; it has a golden 'Heckel' sound and is notably even in tone and intonation. It is a particularly well balanced and playable professional instrument.

We have sympathetically overhauled it over the last few months. Work includes a full re-pad, all new corks and felts, professional keywork set up and it is now in outstanding playing condition. 

Suitable for a professional player, the instrument projects effortlessly in the whole range, and it has the golden Heckel sound these pre-war bassoons are famous for.

This bassoon features:

• An even and silky tone, characteristic of a fine quality 5000 series Heckel. Good dynamic range and very responsive
• Accurate intonation
• Amazing projection
• Silver plating in great condition
• Elegant French style bell ring
• Heckel stamps legible throughout. Original aged varnish with patina and charm
• Good level of keywork including high D key, high E key, left thumb whisper key lock, little finger rollers for right hand low F and Ab, alternate Bb-F#-G#, C# and E-F# trill keys, extra low C key
• Finger hole liners
• Leitzinger M1 crook which works superbly well
