The Rimpl R2 bassoon reed is a variant on an American style reed, a bit like a Fox 1 shape. It is a small reed dimensionally which plays freely and especially helps raise the pitch of flatter pitched bassoons like older long bore Fox Model II etc, some pre-war bassoons, some modern bassoons too. If you are struggling with being flat in pitch on your bassoon with your orchestra, this reed could definitely help you.
