Kohlert 'Penzel-Mueller'

For sale shortly, an intermediate level Kohlert bassoon. Made by Kohlert (Winnenden) and stamped with the name of the USA importer Penzel-Mueller.

These are really good quality bassoons with high grade keywork, including right hand thumb rollers, high D key, left thumb whisper key lock. It plays very well indeed with excellent intonation.

Moosmann later took over the Kohlert tooling and continued the tradition of making good quality bassoons.

Penzel-Mueller was an American woodwind maker who, because they did not make bassoons, imported and badged Kohlert bassoons with their own name. It is identical to the slightly-better-known King Symphony, also made by Kohlert.

Currently undergoing an overhaul it will be ready towards the end of July 2025.
