A carefully-restored Heckel 10000 series bassoon for sale. Made in 1957, this bassoon has only had one owner from new, a professional bassoonist, and it comes with the original Heckel receipt of purchase, Heckel options list etc, all from the time it was first delivered. The bassoon has been beautifully cared for.

This is a rare opportunity to buy a 10000 series Heckel bassoon. This bassoon is a feat of Heckel engineering with a carefully balanced scale, silky round and precise tone, impressive projection and a broad dynamic capability. Those who own a 10000 series Heckel will know what we are talking about! And this is a particularly good example from this series, a truly wonderful instrument.

This bassoon has been gently restored in-house by our specialist bassoon repair team including: all new pads, bore oil and seal, professional set up and more.

This bassoon features:

  • A lovely round and smooth sound, not too dark, not too bright, just perfect. It is the kind of sound which can carry far but can also blend in at a moments notice too
  • Precise intonation throughout
  • Original varnish retained and in excellent condition, with charming patina where it has worn gently over the years
  • Original Heckel stamps intact
  • Silver plated keywork in good condition
  • Excellent level of keywork including high D key and high E keys, little finger rollers, alternate low C key, alternate F#-G#-Bb keys, C# and E-F# trills, left thumb whisper key lock
  • Lined finger holes
  • Three tenon rings
  • Original ivory bell ring - can be replaced with faux ivory if required
  • New professional fibreglass hard case, with case cover and back straps
  • Heckel CC2 crook/bocal in great condition

Owing to the value of this instrument we are not able to send it out by courier, so it will need to be tried at our premises prior to taking it for a trial if required.
