For sale, a Fox Renard 222D bassoon in outstanding condition with high D key.

Fox is an American company making bassoons to a very high standard. This Fox Model 222D bassoon is their entry level maple wood bassoon. The bore and tone hole dimensions are based on Fox’s Model II professional bassoon, so this bassoon makes a great sound and is capable of being played to a high standard.

This bassoon features:

• Excellent sound quality, playing with good evenness and producing a nice, warm tone
• Intonation is very good throughout the range
• Original varnish in excellent condition 
• Silver plated keywork in excellent condition
• A good specification of keywork including high D key, two trill keys, alternate F#, G# and Bb keys, four rollers, left thumb whisper key lock
• Mechanism includes metal finger holes extending into the bore in the wing joint and spring loaded body lock
• Supplied with Fox CTC R2 number 2 length double star crook and Protec hard case

This bassoon has been serviced and is offered for sale in excellent playing condition.
