For sale, an Amati ABN41 bassoon in outstanding condition. The ABN41 model Amati bassoon is a solid instrument with an impressive level of keywork, including high D key and right hand thumb rollers. It is ideal for beginner to intermediate playing but is capable of taking you even further. It produces a good tone and is enjoyable to play.

This particular instrument is stamped 'Boosey and Hawkes 400'; it was made by Amati in the Czech Republic but imported and sold by the Boosey and Hawkes company in England. If you need a nice bassoon on a tight budget then this instrument should be your first consideration as these are excellent bassoons for the money.  

 This bassoon features:  

  •  A warm sound and free blowing response
  • Near-perfect nickel silver plating

  • Varnish in near perfect condition
  • Advanced key work including high D key, crook key lock, nine rollers and two trill keys, alternate right hand third finger B flat, alternate right hand little finger F sharp, alternate right hand little finger F sharp
  • Lined tone holes extending into the bore to reduce bubbling, a lined wing joint and the butt joint lined on the small side
