We
understand that buying a bassoon is a major investment,
and that you want to be sure you are buying the right bassoon
from a reputable supplier. That is why we
go to great lengths to ensure that we sell only high quality
instruments in good playing order, and that the process
of buying is as easy as possible and risk-free. As a part
of our service we:
- test all instruments extensively
before putting them on sale, and either fully service
them or attend to minor issues if the instrument has recently
been serviced. Unless otherwise stated, no instrument
is shown on the web site until it has been fully prepared
for sale.
- offer for sale only high quality
instruments which have many years of playing life ahead
of them.
- clean and polish all instruments
and cases before sale;
-
provide
an accurate description of each instrument on the web
site, with high quality close-up photographs so that
you can see the condition for yourself (all our photographs
have a file name which includes the serial number, to
demonstrate that each picture is of the bassoon being
presented);
- provide a close-up photo of the serial
number on each bassoon and note it on the web page selling
that bassoon. Showing the serial number demonstrates that
our instruments are genuine and that we either own the
instrument or (for commission sales) have legal authority
from the owner to sell it; see Frequently-Asked
Questions for more on this issue;
- offer an Approval
Loan scheme so that you can try the instrument at
home (for an at-cost price of £30 to cover shipping
both ways) and ask your teacher or colleagues to assess
it, subject to suitable ID being provided;
- provide a 7 day money back guarantee
if you change your mind and wish to return the instrument
after purchase;
- provide a 3 month warranty to cover
any faults which may develop after purchase (to date,
no one has invoked this warranty, demonstrating that our
instruments are all in very good condition when sold);
- welcome visitors to our premises,
by appointment, to try any or all of the bassoons on the
web site prior to either purchasing or taking the preferred
bassoon on approval to try at home;
- have a good understanding of bassoons
and the bassoon market. We are always available to put
that understanding at your disposal by phone, email or
in person in order to help you make the right decision
regarding a bassoon purchase.
