This bassoon is reserved
For sale, a top-of-the-range Moosmann 222
bassoon with many extras including a divided long joint.
This bassoon is in excellent condition,
was made in 2006, and the serial number is 5738. There are
currently two Moosmann professional models: the Moosmann 222
and the 222e. The 222e has a slightly modified bore designed
to make the instrument a bit quieter and thus perhaps more
suitable for chamber music and smaller ensemble playing.
The Model 222, for sale here, is Moosmann's
standard professional instrument, played by many professionals
around the world, and is considered preferable to the 222e
for most types of playing.
The Moosmann 222 is quite a step up in sound
from lower Moosmann models (it has a different bore to the
Model 200, for example).
This instrument was bought new in 2007 and
has been played in one of Europe's finest orchestras since
then. It has a beautiful, refined sound which makes it a delight
to play. It really sings at both pianissimo and fortissimo
dynamics. Tuning is spot on throughout the range and intonation
is excellent.
The key features of the standard 222 Moosmann
bassoon, all of which are to be found on this bassoon, are:
- Seasoned curly mountain maple
- French polish lacquer finish
- High-D and High-E keys
- E/F# trill key / left hand, middle

However, this is not a standard Moosmann
222 bassoon. It has a number of expensive upgrades, including:
